the Ask
As social agency of record, we were tapped to make the brand synonymous with renting, generate on-channel engagements, and to drive users to the Apartments.com website.
the approach
We connected with the audience through education and humor. We shared renter-friendly tips and played on daily and seasonal trends. The channels also served as a resource for lifestyle content, keeping renters engaged, even when not in the market for an apartment. We also pushed the brand’s quirky voice on social by deploying spokesperson Brad Bellflower, “Inventor of the Apartminternet,” portrayed by Jeff Goldblum.
the results
Apartments.com’s social channels saw a 76% increase in follower growth, a 48% increase in web sessions from social media, and a 39% increase in web users from social media in the years we maintained their accounts.
clean ‘sweep’stakes campaign
We teamed up with celebrity home organization expert Ria Safford of RíOrganize to giveaway an in-home consultation and organization service to one lucky winner. The sweepstakes launched before back-to-school, coinciding with renters’ natural habits of preparing for the start of a new season and featured DIY hacks and tips from other influencers, blog posts, a dedicated landing page, and dark posts to generate overall awareness. Apartments.com gained over 3K new followers in a single week and garnered nearly 6K entries.
